Believe it or not, it is an ancient Rite of Passage that the Ancient Greeks, and I do mean ANCIENT practiced according to many Historian.
Basically, this was where an Older Male would take a Younger Male and teach them all about being a man, which included having sexual relations with them.
It dates back to about 1650 BCE.
